A Wood Dale man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl at parks and wooded areas in DuPage County, and authorities said they’re investigating allegations involving as many as six other potential victims.
Jordan R. Wesley, 19, of the 400 block of East Itasca Street, was ordered held on $500,000 bail Wednesday at a bond hearing. He faces two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
Prosecutors said Wesley sexually assaulted a 12-year-old Itasca girl at undisclosed parks and wooded areas in Wood Dale and Itasca. The investigation was launched last month after the girl’s mother became suspicious and took her daughter to a hospital for an evaluation.
Assistant State’s Attorney Mike Pawl said Wesley later admitted having “consensual sex” with the girl, who is not of legal age to consent, on at least two occasions.
Wesley also confessed to sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in June and molesting or exposing himself to five other girls between the ages of 11 and 13 at an Itasca park, according to prosecutors.
“We do anticipate additional charges,” Pawl told Judge Anthony Coco in court.
Wesley recently completed probation in a juvenile battery case, authorities said. If convicted of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, he would face 12 to 120 years in prison because of consecutive sentencing laws.
His next court date is Oct. 22 in front of Judge John Kinsella. If released on bond, Wesley would have to wear a tracking device and avoid contact with children while awaiting trial.Copyright © 2014 Paddock Publications, Inc. All rights reserved.
