Police investigating Elgin shooting

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday night in Elgin, according to a news release.

The shooting occurred at 7:36 p.m. on the 1700 block of North Randall Road, according to police.

Police found one man on the scene who suffered a gunshot wound from an unknown offender. He was treated at an area hospital and released a few hours later.

Detectives from the Gang Crimes Unit are conducting an investigation and are asking anyone with information to call (847) 289-2646. Anonymous tips can be left at (847) 695-4195 or by texting 847411 and including ELGINPD in the beginning of the text.
