Addison Trail wins Conant regional

Addison Trail shot a 321 to win the Class 3A Conant boys golf regional by 7 strokes over second-place Conant on Tuesday at Bridges of Poplar Creek.

Zach Vaca and Matt Piotrowski shot matching 78s for the Blazers.

Glenbard North finished third with a 334 behind sophomore medalist Nick Brady’s 74 to grab the final team qualifying spot. Classmate Kyle Tintera added a 76.

Lake Park didn’t advance as a team, missing out by 1 stroke, but Vince Palermo shot a 78 and John Duggan a 79 to qualify for the sectional as individuals.

Class 3A Oswego regional:Neuqua Valley won with a 321 led by junior Ian Langton#146;s 79 at Blackberry Oaks. Steven Grabowski shot an 80 for the Wildcats.Class 2A St. Rita regional:Glenbard South sophomore Christopher Dufort defeated teammate and classmate Russell Matos in a tiebreaker to win medalist honors at Meadows Golf Club in Blue Island.The Raiders won the team championship with a school all-time-low 283, defeating second-place St. Francis by 16 strokes. Senior John Stolte shot a 71 for the Spartans.
