Ÿ Burglars pried open a south side door between 4:50 and 9:21 p.m. Oct. 4 at a home on the 2500 block of North Haddow Avenue. The offenders stole cash from a first floor office, diamond jewelry out of the master bedroom and loose change out of another bedroom. Value was estimated at $25,700.
Ÿ An intoxicated man in his mid 20s kicked and broke a glass lobby door between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 6 at an apartment building on the 1400 block of Woods Drive. According to witnesses, he tried to open a glass patio door at one apartment but the door was locked. He stumbled into bushes before walking to the lobby door. He walked away before officers arrived. He was described as a white male with short brown hair, unshaven face, and wearing light blue Dubuque, Iowa, Harley Davidson T-shirt and construction boots.
Ÿ A man exposed a lewd cellphone picture to two female employees at Jewel-Osco, 440 E. Rand Road. On Sept. 28, while checking out around 3:25 p.m., he placed his cellphone on the counter near the cashier, then asked her for her name. She quickly rang up his order and he left. He displayed the same picture around 5:56 p.m. Oct. 4 at a another checkout counter. He placed the phone in the seat of his shopping cart where a bagger saw it. He asked her how to pronounce her name and then left. He was described as a white male between 40 and 60 years old, 5-foot-11, slim build, graying brown hair, wearing eyeglasses, a dark color T-shirt and khaki pants.
Ÿ Vandals used green and black paint to spray graffiti between Sept. 22 and 26: on a pedestrian underpass at Davis and Bristol; on stairs and a street sign at Century 21 offices, 1818 E. Northwest Hwy.; at 13 places on playground equipment, benches and a tree in Evergreen Park, 1800 E. Grove St.; and on two mausoleums in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 E. Euclid Ave.
Ÿ A female resident in an apartment on the 1600 block of Woods Drive saw a man peeping through her glass patio door blinds around 5:30 a.m. Oct. 6. She turned on a light and he fled.
Ÿ Burglars broke into a 2005 BMW 325i and entered a 2007 Jeep Compass between 7 p.m. Sept. 28 and 5:18 p.m. Sept. 29 in an apartment lot on the 2700 block of North Buffalo Grove Road. Offenders took a black toolbox with medical tools and headphones, value estimated at $2,300, out of the BMW, and a case with approximately 50 music CDs out of the Jeep.
Ÿ Vandals punctured tires between 3 p.m. Oct. 4 and 8 a.m. Oct. 5 on a 1984 BMW 325, 2003 Honda Civic EX, and 2009 Nissan Versa in three driveways on the 800 and 900 blocks of North Wilshire lanes and 1600 block of East Frederick Street. Damage was estimated at $800.
Ÿ Burglars stole a backpack containing an iPad and keyboard with case between 2:10 and 8 p.m. Oct. 1 out of a Ford Escape at St. Viator High School, 1213 E. Oakton St. Value was estimated at $750.
Ÿ Burglars broke into a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban between 2:05 and 3:10 p.m. Oct. 5 at Prairie Park, 1695 S. Belmont Ave., and stole a designer handbag and two designer wallets with several credit and debit cards, approximately 20 gift cards and driver's license. Loss was estimated at $650.
Ÿ Burglars stole two gold bracelets, two gold rings, and a ruby ring between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. Oct. 5 out of a home on the 500 block of Happfield Drive.
Ÿ Burglars stole a porcelain bowl Sept. 29 and, between Sept. 29 and Oct. 6, a bowl with jewelry and jewelry out of a safe at an apartment on the 900 block of East Shady Way, Value was estimated at $1,290.
Ÿ Vandals hurled a landscape brick between 10 p.m. Sept. 25 and 6 a.m. Sept. 26 that smashed the front driver's-side window on a vehicle in a driveway on the 300 block of East Lincoln. Damage was estimated at $500.
Ÿ Thieves stole a Jewish religious medallion between 3 and 5 p.m. Sept. 20 from the exterior threshold of the front doorway at a home on the 3300 block of Carriage Way Drive. Value was estimated at $50.
Ÿ A man, approximately 45-50 years old, ran from a taxi around 5 a.m. Sept. 29 on Lake Arlington Drive at Towne Boulevard without paying the $66 fare.
Ÿ Thieves stole the catalytic converter from a 1999 Toyota 4Runner between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sept. 26 in a business lot at 723 W. Algonquin Road. Damage was estimated between $400 and $600.
Ÿ Burglars stole $25, cigarettes and a pack of gum between 6 p.m. Sept. 24 and 6 a.m. Sept. 25 out of a 2008 Hyundai Sonata in a driveway on the 400 block of Happfield Drive.
Ÿ Burglars stole a gray shoulder purse containing a black wallet, cash, credit/debit cards, iPod and ear phones between 10:45 and 11 a.m. Sept. 27 out of an unlocked 2001 Saturn SC1 in a driveway on the 2600 block of Chapel Hill Drive. Value was estimated at $460.
Ÿ Burglars used a cutting tool to attempt to break the lock on a trailer between July 29 and Sept. 29 in a lot at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 916 E. Central Road.
