Delight in Distinctive Design at Antiques + Modernism Winnetka

This fall, the Woman's Board of Winnetka Community House invites collectors, treasure hunters, interior designers and lovers of design to one of the country's most well-respected fundraisers, the Antiques + Modernism Winnetka Show. Held from October 18-20 at the historic Winnetka Community House, 620 Lincoln Avenue, in Winnetka, Illinois, this spectacular style and design event is a fusion of the Midwest's highly regarded, long running Winnetka Antiques Show and Modernism Show and has become a standing tradition in Winnetka and on the North Shore.

The combined event will encompass periods of design ranging from the 17th century to the mid 20th century. Esteemed dealers from across North America and Europe will showcase fine examples of American, British, French and Asian antiques, as well as pieces from the Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Mid-Century design movements. To ensure the quality of items available for purchase, each dealer is selected on an invitational basis to exhibit at the event. Offering furniture, silver, ceramics, jewelry, garden antiques, lighting, rugs, textiles, fine and folk art, architectural artifacts and more, the Antiques + Modernism Winnetka Show offers something for everyone's taste and budget.

Collectors, designers and hobbyists alike will delight in the extensive inventory of beautiful objects presented at the historic Winnetka Community House. “We are proud to be continuing the Winnetka Community House's tradition of bringing some of the country's finest dealers together for the 2013 Antiques + Modernism Winnetka Show,” says Chair of this year show, Laura Reynolds. “Our show offers customers the opportunity to discover rare and unique pieces which you cannot find mass produced from so many of today's home and accessory retailers.”

Antiques + Modernism Winnetka commences with a Preview Party featuring a cocktail buffet reception on Thursday, October 17 at Winnetka Community House from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is $125 if purchased in advance and $150 if purchased at the door. Preview Party tickets include a three-day pass to the show, which runs throughout the weekend: Friday, October 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Sunday, October 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Three-day admission is $15 if purchased in advance and $20 if purchased at the door.

All proceeds from the Preview Party and event support the programs and services of the Winnetka Community House, a non-tax supported organization that is dependent on a broad base of community support for its existence. The Winnetka Community House was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in August, 2007. The Woman's Board's mission is to provide financial and volunteer support for this important institution.
