Mount Prospect man sentenced for child porn

A 24-year-old Mount Prospect man received a two-year prison sentence after pleading guilty Thursday to possession of child pornography.

In addition serving the prison term, Jonathan Pascolini will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, officials from Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez's office said.

Pascolini was arrested earlier this year after the relative of a 12-year-old girl discovered an online relationship between the two. Pascolini had coaxed the girl into sending him nude pictures of herself, according to authorities.

Pascolini admitted to investigators that he possessed and viewed the photos, and had discussions with the girl about meeting for sex, authorities said.

Pascolini came into contact with the girl through a mutual friend on Facebook, prosecutors said, and communicated with her online and by phone. Authorities recovered nude images the girl sent via Facebook, as well as chat messages between the two on the social networking website.

It's unclear how much credit for time already served in jail Pascolini will receive off his prison sentence.
