Cemetery Walk helps mark 150th anniversary of Barrington church

The public is invited to a free Cemetery Walk at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, as part of the 150th anniversary celebration of Barrington’s St. Paul United Church of Christ at the St. Paul Cemetery.

Participants will be led by drum from the church’s current location, 401 E. Main St., to the cemetery, one block east of Route 59. Join the procession, with plenty of parking at the church.

Come to hear the stories of the first burial at St. Paul Cemetery. Hear from in-costume actors of the tales of the Civil War veterans laid to rest there. Uncover 150 years of history from the early German settlers of Barrington throughout the generations.

Be witness to the historic burial of a time capsule highlighting the Sesquicentennial of St. Paul United Church of Christ. You can do grave rubbings and enjoy refreshments.

For more information, please call St. Paul UCC at (847) 381-0460.
