U-46 seeks parent input with online survey

Parents of children in Elgin Area School District U-46 can now take the district’s annual Family and Community Engagement Survey (FACE) online, Superintendent José M. Torres announced Wednesday.

School-specific surveys can be found at www.u-46.org/FACEinEnglish and www.u-46.org/FACEinSpanish or parents can request a paper copy during parent-teacher conferences Oct. 25. U-46 parents will also be receiving the survey via email.

“The input of our U-46 community is the fuel to our drive for continuous improvement efforts,” Torres said. “We really want all of our parents to be actively engaged and give us their feedback, whether it’s positive or constructive, so that we can continue with a laser-like focus on students.”

The surveys include 13 questions and only take about 15 minutes to complete. Questions seek input on areas including: welcoming families to schools; communicating effectively with families; supporting student learning; increasing opportunities and advocating for all students; sharing decision-making with stakeholders; and collaborating with the community.
