State Police looking for distracted drivers

Illinois State Police has been patrolling Chicago's Kennedy Expressway in search of what troopers believe to be distracted drivers.

The troopers are looking for drivers who are texting as they maneuver along Interstate 90, which meanders through Chicago's North Side. Authorities say texting while driving is unsafe, irresponsible and its consequences can be devastating.

State police officials say members of the Distracted Driving Enforcement Detail have been working the entire length of the Kennedy on Monday. In addition to texting, troopers are watching for cellphone use and other activities that are prohibited while driving.
