October 9: Talking With Kids About Drugs and Alcohol

The use of alcohol and other drugs by youth continues to disrupt family lives, destroy relationships, cause auto and other accidents, and ruin futures. On Wednesday, October 9, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights will host youth psychologist Sarah Greene, who will address this growing threat to young people and those who care for them. Greene, a licensed clinical professional counselor and a nationally certified counselor, will share ideas on how to talk with children and youth about drugs and alcohol, basing her insights on real-life cases. There is no charge for admission.

Greene has a special interest in, and experience with, the mind-body connection, as well as working with teenagers and young adults. She is affiliated with Samaritan Counseling Center in Winnetka. The Counseling Center's services include spiritually sensitive individual counseling for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as counseling for couples and families.

First Presbyterian Church is located at 302 N. Dunton Avenue, Arlington Heights, just south of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library.
