20th annual Kick-A-Thon brings community together

The North and East Drill Teams just completed their annual Kick-a-thon held on Sept. 13 at St. Charles East High School.

This year marked the 20th anniversary of the event.

Many former drill team members returned to kick for the event. There were over 160 community kickers who also participated by kicking and raising money for the American Cancer Society and Living Well Cancer Resource Center in Geneva.

This year's Kick-a-thon paid special tribute to many local people who have lost their battle with cancer.

The drill teams would like to thank the chairmen of the event, Molly McCraney, Roseanne Grenfell and Diana Artman, along with many other parents from both high schools for the many months of planning.

The drill teams' goal was to $100,000 but the final total will not be announced until the Cross-Town Classic Basketball game in January.

Anyone wishing to still donate or read more about the event can visit the website at www.kick-a-thon.org.
