Nestor Ascencio scored twice on penalty kicks 15 seconds apart in the first half and the Streamwood boys soccer team defeated Elgin 3-1 Wednesday at the St. Charles East tournament.

Juan Munoz added a goal for the Sabres (9-2-1) in the second half off an assist from Jasminko Dizdarevic and Sergio Blanco had 4 saves in the win.

Joel Chavez scored Elgin's goal and Flavio Jaimes had 6 saves for the Maroons (4-6-2).

St. Francis 2, St. Edward 1: St. Edward fell behind 2-0 at halftime and couldn't recover in this Suburban Christian loss. Austin Pfeiffer scored for the Green Wave (6-6-2, 2-3-0) and John Gotheredge had 7 saves in goal.

Huntley 7, Woodstock North 0: Eduardo Gonzalez had a hat trick and Niko Mihalopolous scored 2 goals to lead Huntley (12-1-1) to a Fox Valley Conference crossover win. Jack Beasley and Jakub Rys also scored for the Red Raiders, who got 2 assists from Reyman Solis and one each from Jason Zobott, David Pardo and Christian Ramos. Tommy Helm had 2 saves in goal for Huntley.

Lakes 2, Cary-Grove 0: Kevin Csoka had 4 saves in goal for the Trojans (7-4) in this loss at the Carmel quad.
