Fort Wayne to launch Segway tours of downtown

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Small fleets of Segways will soon be moving through Fort Wayne as part of a new effort to show off the city.

Tour Fort Wayne is a new venture of Ultrazone. Two tour guides will lead groups of up to eight people along established walkways and trails.

Participants will receive about 15 minutes of training before heading out to see local sights.

The News-Sentinel reports initial tours will be downtown and include places such as Headwaters Park and the River Greenway trails.

A two-hour historic tour will cost $48 per person initially as part of an introductory offer and then rise to $60.

Segway tours have proved popular in bigger cities like Indianapolis, which offers them along White River State Park downtown.
