Fifth score lifts Grayslake North

Every shot counted in Tuesday’s crosstown rivalry match between the Grayslake North and Grayslake Central boys golf teams.

Christian DiBerardino fired a 41 at Renwood to earn medalist honors and lead Grayslake North to victory on its home course. Both teams carded a 179, but the Knights won on a fifth-score tiebreaker.

Grayslake North also counted Kyle Baker’s 44, Kyle Sagendorph’s 46, Scott Wonsil’s 48 and Kevin Chatten’s 49, which was the deciding score.

Connor Fitzgerald and Kyke Reynolds shot a 42 and 43, respectively, to lead the Rams.

Lakes d. Grant: At Fox Lake Country Club, Mike Barry shot a 41, and the Eagles (177) picked up the North Suburban Prairie win over the Bulldogs (193).

Lakes’ Jackson Schultz and Grant’s Chris Bautista each had a 44.

Libertyville d. Warren: At Pine Meadow Golf Club, the host Wildcats (160) were led by medalist Billy Knutson’s 38.

Warren (164) received a 39 from Shane Roberts.

Libertyville also got a 40 from Jack Lipp and 41s from Matt Reed, Tad Carlson and Bobby Snader.
