Vista’s annual Healthy Woman event set for Oct. 3

Healthy Woman, a Vista Health System resource, is celebrating its sixth anniversary Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort.

The annual event will begin with a free Women’s Health Expo from 3-6:30 p.m., followed by a ticketed dinner from 7-9 p.m. featuring inspirational guest speaker Kim Lyons from NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.”

The Healthy Woman Expo will include free screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, bone density and more. Vista physicians, nurses and staff will provide information on a range of women’s health issues.

From 4 to 5:30 p.m., there will be four physician presentations on women’s health topics, including athletic injuries, urinary issues, vitamin supplements and sexual health.

Plus, the expo will include dozens of local vendors offering a variety of beauty products, apparel, jewelry, spa/fitness services, popular household items, items for purchase and more. Lyons will also have a booth at the expo to meet people and sign autographs.

The ticketed dinner will feature Lyons, whose presentation is titled “Healthy Mind, Body & Spirit.” She will share her five essential tips to live a healthy lifestyle and achieve emotional, physical and mental balance.

In addition to her television fame, Lyons is a prenatal specialist with more than 16 years of experience as a personal trainer and nutrition coach.

Tickets for the dinner are $46 for Healthy Woman members and $56 for nonmembers. Membership for Healthy Woman is free and can be completed online. Dinner seating is limited, and advanced reservations are required. Visit VistaHealth.com/HealthyWoman to purchase dinner tickets, join Healthy Woman or receive more information.

The Marriott Lincolnshire Resort is just south of Half Day Road and east of Milwaukee Avenue. The expo will be held in the resort’s Grand Marquee Tent, with the dinner in the Grand Ballroom. Limited expo vendor space is still available.
