Hinsdale man dies in Oak Brook crash
A Hinsdale man who was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed in Oak Brook early Sunday morning died at the scene, Oak Brook police said.
The crash took place on Spring Road at Salt Creek Circle just after midnight.
Thomas Fitzsimons, 48, of Hinsdale, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital, police said.
Spring Road was closed between York and 31st for several hours while the Felony Investigative Assistance Team investigated and recreated the crash, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
Preliminary autopsy results determined that Fitzsimons died of injuries consistent with an automobile accident, DuPage coroner’s office officials said.
