Barrington Scarecrow Festival returns Oct. 12

Barrington’s 13th annual Scarecrow Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, in Memorial Park on South Cook Street downtown. More than 500 people are expected to attend. Free activities for children include scarecrow building, pumpkin painting, pony rides, arts and crafts, balloon animals, face painting, cookie decorating, inflatable games, children’s games and more. Bob the DJ will delight the crowd with his special costume and favorite spooky songs. Materials for scarecrows will be provided, and festival goers can bring clothing and accessories to personalize their creations. Kooker’s Restaurant will be on hand with lunchtime fare and Kaleidoscoops will have their assortment of ice cream for sale.
