Rodriguez, Hersey third at Detweiller

Junior David Rodriguez (14:40) took third individually in leading Hersey's boys cross country team to a third-place team finish with 157 points at the Richards Springs Invitational at Detweiller Park in Peoria.

Defending Class 3A state champion York took the title with 78 points, followed by Class 3A runner-up O'Fallon (140).

O'Fallon senior Patrick Perrier won the individual title in 14:24.

Junior Graham Brown (15:.07) finished 21st to lead Palatine's eight-place finish with 279 points, and senior Jake Herb (14:53) finished 11th leading Barrington to a 14th place finish.

Conant second at Minooka: Junior Zach Dale continued his impressive season by taking first in the first flight at the Minooka Flight Invitational, leading Conant to a second-place finish with 19 points.

Dale (14:46) outlasted Downers Grove North's Zack Smith (14:52) to secure the title for the Cougars.

Shu Sultan (16:00) took first in the third flight for Conant.
