Yandall leads Wauconda’s win

Chalk one up for girl power.

Playing against the boys at Fox Lake Country Club on Thursday, Wauconda’s Annette Yandall earned medalist honors with a 41, 1 shot better than teammate Brad Efflandt.

Wauconda carded a 173 in defeating Grant (218), which was led by Sam Saghafi’s 50.

Wauconda also counted Mike Gertz’s 44 and Patrick Adams’ 46.

Warren d. Lake Zurich: At Bittersweet, T.J. Collins carded a match-best 38 to lead the Blue Devils (162) to victory on their home course.

The scores of Mike Balla (40), Jack Hansen (41) and Carter Wood (43) also counted for Warren.

Lake Zurich (175) got a 42 from Sean Baldwin.

Antioch d. Vernon Hills: At Spring Valley Country Club in Salem, Wis., the Sequoits’ Dillon Kreutzer was medalist with a 37 and host Antioch (158) edged the Cougars (165).

Bailey Moser added a 38 for Antioch. Kyle Thode and Andrew Gagnon had a 41 and 42, respectively.

Justin Park’s 40 led Vernon Hills.

Johnsburg d. Grayslake North: At Renwood, the Knights shot a 165 and lost by 1 stroke to the visiting Skyhawks in Fox Valley Conference play.

Christian DiBerardino had a 39 for the Knights.
