Boys cross country

Billy Thomas and Bryan Gamboa delivered a 1-3 finish for Hoffman Estates in a boys cross country dual Tuesday, but Barrington's depth made the difference in a 28-37 decision in favor of the Broncos at Barrington Pond.

Jake Herb was second for Barrington, and the Broncos also placed fourth, fifth, seventh and 10th.

Thomas completed the course in 15:27.

• Palatine extended its Mid-Suburban League winning streak with a 25-35 triumph against Conant.

Conant's Zach Dale had the winning effort of 15:20 at Deer Grove East, but Argeni Bailon and Graham Brown of Palatine finished 2-3 and the Pirates also earned the No. 5, 8 and 9 spots.

• Harry Winter (17:09), Nick Vucovich (17:36) and Nick Macius (17:44) led the way as Fremd earned a 15-50 decision against Schaumburg at Hoover Elementary School.
