Barrington walk builds awareness for Lyme disease

Walkers from around Chicago and the suburban areas will join Sunday, Sept. 22, in Barrington to build awareness of Lyme disease. This fifth annual 2.5 mile walk will be held at the Jewel Tea Pavilion at Citizens Park, 511 Lake Zurich Road, (at Route 14) in Barrington. Registration is at 10 a.m. and the walk starts at 11 a.m. The pavilion provides a large indoor space to ensure the event will be fun, rain or shine. The event will include live music, a variety of valuable raffle prizes, great food and children’s activities. Cost to participate is $30/adult, $75/family. All proceeds from the walk will be directed to the local nonprofit The Lyme Support Network to support education, awareness and innovative treatments for Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. Preregistration can be performed through the signmeup.com website: https://www.signmeup.com/site/online-event-registration/93308 or at Citizens Park on Sunday morning.
