Downers Grove police have released a sketch of a suspect in an armed robbery Monday morning.

At about 8:24 a.m. a man approached a person in the area of Saratoga and Franklin streets and displayed a gun in an attempt to rob the victim, police said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, in his teens or 20s, skinny build with facial hair on his chin.

Area schools were briefly locked down until about 10 a.m. while police searched for the suspect.

No one was injured and police continue to investigate. Police say anyone with information or who recognizes the suspect can call 911.
