Lakes Volley-For-the-Cure:

Lakes Community High School will participate in its fifth annual Volley-For-the-Cure match on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The games will begin at 5 p.m., with the freshmen and sophomores, and will conclude with the varsity match at 6 p.m. at the school at 1600 Eagle Way, Lake Villa. In the past five years, together with Antioch Community High School, the event has raised nearly $30,000. All proceeds go directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Organizers are seeking possible contributions from the community and local companies to be raffled off during the volleyball matches. Any donations are greatly appreciated and welcomed.
