After the arrest, a trained explosives detection canine from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms detected a suspicious substance in the man's car, which was located in a remote parking lot on Riverwoods Road south of Route 60, police said.

Explosives technicians from the Waukegan Fire Department used a remote control robot to search the trunk of the car. Two additional guns were found in the trunk, police said.

The man is not being identified, pending charges to be approved by the Lake County state's Attorney's office.

Riverwoods Road remained closed for about two hours Monday morning.
