A first as Lakes takes own tourney title

Lakes’ girls volleyball team made team history Saturday.

The Eagles won their ninth annual invite for the first time by going 5-0.

Grayslake Central (4-1) finished second, while Grayslake North (3-2) was third. Antioch (2-3) settled for fourth in the six-team field.

Megan Behrendt totaled 29 kills and 47 digs to lead Lakes. McKenna Lahr added 24 kills for the Eagles, while Haley Halberg contributed 13 kills, 7 blocks and 5 aces. Aly Bathery added 46 digs, Maddie Demo dished out 80 assists, and Morgan Phillips served 11 aces.
