Crabtree seeks artists for ‘Art in Nature’ event Sept. 29

Crabtree Nature Center is seeking artists for its Art in Nature event being held Sunday, Sept. 29.

Artists will paint along the scenic nature trails and then be judged for prizes. Visitors watch the artists at work, and can try their hand at painting, enjoy live music and take part in children’s art activities — all for free.

An artist registration fee provides the chance to sell paintings and includes lunch. More than 40 painters have already signed up. The Barrington Cultural Art Center is co-sponsoring the event with the Forest Preserves of Cook County.

Prospective artists can call (847) 381-6592 or stop by the nature center, at 3 Stover Road, Barrington Hills, where they can also view artwork from last year’s event.
