Take part in Fox Lake Mayor’s Challenge 5K run, walk

The Fox Lake Mayor’s Challenge 5K Run and Walk will take place Saturday, Sept. 14, at Millennium.

The weekend kicks off with an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner Friday, Sept. 13, at the Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department Bingo Hall, 114 Washington St. in Ingleside. Dinner will be served from 4 to 8 p.m.

Adults are $8, while seniors and children 10 and younger are only $5. Tickets for the dinner are available at the village hall or at the front door of the bingo hall.

There also will be raffles and music.

Registration for the race takes place at 7 a.m.at the Fox Lake Gazebo at Millennium Park. Warm up begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race kicks off at 8 a.m.

The race entry fee is $25, but students ages 14 and younger can sign up for $15. All proceeds will benefit the Chicagoland affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The first 250 registrants are guaranteed a free T-shirt, but participants who raise $200 in pledges for the Susan G. Komen Foundation will receive a free hooded sweatshirt.
