Employee injured at Fox Valley Career Center vocational school

A Fox Valley Career Center employee was injured at the school Tuesday morning and taken by helicpoter to a hospital for treatment, according to a press release from the Kaneland school district.

The injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

No students were injured in the incident, which occurred about 9:10 a.m. Details of the accident were not provided, nor the employee's name or the name of the hospital.

The career school cooperative is housed at the Kaneland district headquarters in Maple Park. The helicopter landed on the east side of Kaneland High School.

Around the same time, a Fox Valley student in a different program experienced heat-related illness. The student was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Students from Burlington Central, St. Charles North and East, Batavia, Geneva, Kaneland and West Aurora high schools attend the vocational center.
