Ÿ The Kane County Sheriff’s Office said officers executed a search warrant early Tuesday and turned up 30 grams of cocaine, a small marijuana growing operation inside a house, ill-gotten prescription drugs and various items of drug paraphernalia inside a home on the 800 block of South Street in Elgin. As a result, police arrested the home’s residents, Alfonso M. Gallardo, 22, and Eric C. Nelson, 27, on several drug charges, according to a sheriff’s report. Gallardo was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of prescription drugs, production or possession of less than five marijuana plants and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Nelson was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. They were being held in the Kane County jail, awaiting Wednesday morning bond hearings.
