Stevenson High Charity Cheer Pom Clinic to benefit Christopher Steele Foundation

Stevenson High School Spirit Revolution Cheer and Pom team members have fun, teach, and motivate young athletes at a special clinic to raise money for this years recipient, the Chris Steele Foundation. The routine will be performed Friday, Sept. 27 during the Stevenson Football game.

On Saturday, Sept. 7, the Stevenson High School field house was packed with 140 energetic clinic attendees whose ages ranged from kindergarten through 8th grade.

Spirit Revolution Cheerleading and Patriette team members and coaches led the eventful day. Clinic attendees learned a half time routine that will be performed at the home football game Sept. 27. Throughout the day skills were practiced including jumps, stunts, leaps and turns.

The goal was to have fun learning cheerleading and dance skills, to put together a great half time routine to entertain fans at the Sept. 27 game, and to raise money for a wonderful cause. Proceeds from this years clinic are being donated to the Chris Steele Foundation.

About the Chris Steele Foundation:

The Christopher Steele Foundation was started in August 2006 by the family and friends of Chris Steele who died of an inoperable brain tumor in 2006 at the age of 23. The Foundation is based in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, one of the many communities sending students to Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois where Chris attended. The Foundation, which hopes to one day have a national scope, will always have deep ties to the towns and villages comprising the Stevenson School District where many of Chris' friends and family live and work.

The mission of the Christopher Steele Foundation is quite simple: raise as much money as possible and donate it to institutions and individuals who are researching cures for brain tumors (with particular emphasis on sarcomas). The Foundation is especially interested in innovative treatment approaches. Funds may also be directed to services that support patients and their families. The Foundation will also support young men whose athletic activities reflect Chris' interest through annual hockey and baseball scholarships established for Stevenson High School athletes. http://christophersteelefoundation.org/about.html

The 2013 clinic was a success and Spirit Revolution is looking forward to hosting another great clinic event next year.
