Seminar on property tax appeals Sept. 10
Schaumburg Township Assessor John R. Lawson will host a seminar on the appeal of residential property taxes at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Schaumburg Township Hall, 1 Illinois Blvd. in Hoffman Estates. New assessment figures affect one’s tax bill for the next three years. Any reductions of assessed value based on an appeal filed by Sept. 23 would take effect on the second installment of a property owner’s 2013 tax bill, payable in 2014. Taxpayers should bring a copy of their reassessment notice to the free seminar on Sept. 10.
