Palatine Township GOP group to take straw poll

Several GOP gubernatorial candidates and lawmakers will attend the Palatine Township Republican Organization’s pig roast fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Deer Grove Forest Preserve near Palatine.

The event will be held in Deer Grove East 1 in pavilion 1, located on Dundee Road between Smith and Hicks.

Gubernatorial candidates Kirk Dillard, Bruce Rauner, Dan Rutherford and Bill Brady plan to attend, as do state Rep. Tom Morrison, state Sen. Matt Murphy, Cook County Board Commissioner Gregg Goslin, Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak and Cook County GOP Chairman Aaron Del Mar. A straw poll on the governor’s race will be conducted.

The cost for adults is $15 in advance or $20 the day of and $5 or $7 for children. For more information, call (847) 496-7871. Tickets are available at palatinerepublicans.org.
