Author Meg Cabot to speak at Stevenson High

Submitted by Vernon Area Public Library

Mothers, daughters, teens and tweens will meet adored novelist Meg Cabot when the Vernon Area Public Library hosts the #1 New York Times best-selling author at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, in the West Auditorium at Stevenson High School. Cabot will share highlights from the latest book in her Heather Wells Mystery series, “The Bride Wore Size 12.”

As demonstrated in her renowned series “The Princess Diaries,” upon which two Disney movies were based, Cabot's novels feature female protagonists with a quick wit. “The Bride Wore Size 12” focuses on the shenanigans of a former pop idol turned detective, Heather Wells, as she faces a ghastly mystery as her wedding quickly approaches, while maintaining her dry sense of humor and hilarious pop culture references.

Funny and engaging, Meg Cabot has written dozens of hugely popular titles including: “Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls” (tween), “The Princess Diaries” (teen), “Avalon High” (turned into an original Disney Channel movie), “Queen of Babble” (adult), and “Boy Meets Girl” (adult).

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing at the event, courtesy of the Lake Forest Book Store.

This event is free and open to all. Register online at bit.ly/Bride12, phone at (224) 543-1485 or in person at any public service desk in the library. Stevenson High School is located at 1 Stevenson Drive in Lincolnshire.

The Vernon Area Public Library District serves a population of 42,900 within a 29-square-mile area that includes Lincolnshire, Prairie View, and parts of Buffalo Grove, Long Grove, Riverwoods, Vernon Hills, and unincorporated Vernon and Ela townships.
