Dunne joins the Grayslake North golfing fun

Playing in her first varsity golf match -- and against boys -- Grayslake North senior Ireland Dunne shot a 48 and had her score count.

Grayslake North, which does not have a girls golf team, carded a 187 in a Fox Valley Conference loss to McHenry (160) at McHenry Country Club on Thursday.

Scott Wonsil led Grayslake North with a 44, while Kyle Baker added a 47. Like Dunne, the Knights' Ryan Gross had a 48.

McHenry's Cameron Justen and Tyler Nicodem each fired a 2-over-par 37 to share medalist honors.
