Carmel remains unbeaten

Carmel Catholic’s girls golf team picked up two more wins Wednesday to remain undefeated.

Sophomores Kayla Ryan and Alexa Amato shot 44 and 45, respectively, as the Corsairs opened East Suburban Catholic Conference play by carding a 186 against Benet Academy (191) and St. Viator (200) at River Bend Golf Course in Lisle.

St. Viator senior Dana Gattone was medalist with an even-par 36.

Carmel (5-0, 2-0) also received a 48 from another sophomore, Eva Savovich, while junior Kyra Kauffman added a 49.

Lake Zurich d. Lakes: At Village Green Golf Course, junior Aine Mattera shot a personal-best 40 for the Bears (189), who earned the North Suburban Conference win.

Lake Zurich also counted Megan Malcolm’s 46, Savannah Saunders’ 50 and Jenni Gorey’s 53.

Lakes (241) received a 56 from Gretchen Metzger.
