I was disappointed to read the paragraph in the Aug. 16 article “GOP governor primary: Who can win?” which mentioned “two DuPage County names” as the Republican candidates for treasurer. Actually, there is another candidate — Michael Scott Carter, a TV and radio economist with a beautiful wife and two young sons. Mike has a compelling personal story, with his own business, and is the driving force behind some impressive nonprofit/charitable efforts.
A bit of Michael’s political philosophy concerning campaigns is that nobody is a candidate until that person’s name is on a ballot. With that in mind, we are conducting a statewide effort to ensure that Mike’s name is on Illinois ballots as a candidate for treasurer in March 2014.
