Michigan RB will miss rest of season

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan says a knee injury in his first college game will force redshirt freshman running back Drake Johnson to miss the rest of the season.

The 17th-ranked Wolverines said Monday that Johnson tore an anterior cruciate ligament in Saturday’s 59-9 home victory over Central Michigan.

Johnson had two carries for nine yards and one tackle on special teams.

Coach Brady Hoke says Johnson is “as tough as anyone” on the football team, “and he will make it back from this.”

Johnson is from Ann Arbor and played at Pioneer High School.
