Following two standing-room-only presentations on the history of the Lone Ranger this summer, College of Lake County sociology instructors John and Maria Jose Tenuto will return to the Cook Memorial Library in Vernon Hills for two presentations this fall: "The History of 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan'" on Sept. 24 and "Bella Italia!" on Oct. 10.
The presentations will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Cook Memorial Library, 701 Aspen Dr., Vernon Hills, IL. Registration is required in advance at http://webres.cooklib.org.
On Sept. 24, the Tenutos will return to celebrate the amazing individuals who worked on Nicholas Meyer's film "Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan." More than 120 rare, and many never-before-seen, photographs paint the incredible picture of a company of actors and artists whose talents combined to create one of Star Trek's best films. The Tenutos will also share trivia and little-known facts about the making of the film.
October is National Italian American Heritage Month, and the Tenutos will celebrate by taking an engaging look at the amazing and historic contributions of Italians and Italian Americans in "Bella Italia!" on Oct. 10. Through family photos, historical documents, clips and first-hand accounts, they will introduce a side of Italian America that many are not familiar with. Join them for some moments of pride, a few laughs and Italian coffee and cookies!
