Geneva Fire Department crews responded to two house fires Friday night that broke out within just a few minutes -- and blocks -- from each other, authorities said.

The fires occurred around 7:30 p.m. on the 900 block of Sunset Road and the 1500 block of Keim Circle, just as severe thunderstorms were passing through the area, according to Geneva Fire Department officials.
