CLC offers Disney internship

College of Lake County students are invited to attend an information session about the Disney College Program, a paid internship experience. Sessions will be held at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 10, or Wednesday, Sept. 11, in Room T326 (Technology Building) at the Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake.

More than 100 CLC students have successfully completed the Disney College Program. Students can also take college courses at Disney University that will transfer back to CLC for full college credit through its Educational Work Experience program.

Completing an internship at Walt Disney World or Disneyland is not only a “magical” experience, but it’s also a valuable addition to students’ resumes and provides them with worldwide networking connections, according to Carolyn Serdar with CLC Career and Placement Services.

Applications open in September for the internship starting in January 2014. Students have the option to stay with Disney until May or August while earning money, learning from college courses and living independently in Disney housing.

According to the Disney College Program website, www.disneycollegeprogram.com, “Professionals from every field agree that an academically-oriented work experience provides students with the tools they need to compete effectively in today’s job market. The Disney College Program offers students such an experience.”
