Cook County clerk debuts public official directory

Cook County residents will now have a streamlined way of looking up the elected officials who represent them.

Cook County Clerk David Orr released an updated online directory on Monday. It allows residents in Chicago’s suburbs to search, including by home address, for representatives in Congress or Illinois’ General Assembly, among other offices. It can also be searched for an official’s name or by type of office.

While Chicago officials are included, city residents can’t search by address on the database since Orr’s office deals with suburban Cook County.

The directory can be downloaded in an Excel or PDF format.
