Today's high temperature could be one for the record books.

According to, today's high temperature could hit 96 degrees. The record for this date is 97, set back in 1973.

With humidity levels of more than 50 percent, it will feel like it's 100-plus degrees outside today.

It should cool down tonight, with a slight chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm in the area tonight.

Forecasts call for it to be much more pleasant on Wednesday, with highs in the mid 80s.

Hot weather should return for the weekend, though, with highs in the low 90s Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
