Ÿ Jose L. Alcala, 36, of Elgin, was charged Saturday with two counts of criminal sexual assault of a victim between 13 and 17, according to court documents. Alcala’s bail was set at $1 million Tuesday in Kane County bond court. His next court date is Sept. 11.

Ÿ Travis T. Tyus, 34, of the 100 block of George Street, Bensenville, was charged Monday with four counts of theft after he stole cellphones on four occasions between May 11 and June 22 after meeting people via Craigslist, according to a police report. Each of the four people had placed ads to sell their cellphone, and Tyus asked to meet them at a bar in the 900 block of North McLean Boulevard in Elgin. His bail was set at $10,000 in Kane County bond court. His next court date is Sept. 9.

Ÿ Alexander J. Young, an Elgin homeless man, was charged Monday with three counts of resisting or obstructing a police officer, criminal trespass to land and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court documents. Police were called by employees of a fast-food restaurant in the 1400 block of Larkin Avenue after Young tried to fill a soda cup he had not paid for.

His bail was set at $50,000 in Kane County bond court. His next court date is Sept. 6.
