‘Honor Our Veterans Weekend’ offers music, fun in Cary

The Veterans Network Committee will host an “Honor Our Veterans Weekend” with live music, food and fun for the family on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Lake Julian, 65 S. Route 14, Cary. The day also will help support flood relief efforts in Cary. There is a $10 donation.

Festivities will run from 1 to 8 p.m., with live music all day, food, games and raffles. BagShot Row will perform from 2 to 3:30 p.m., followed by In Session from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. and Voyage from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

It is sponsored by Veterans Network Committee, Cary Lions, village of Cary, Algonquin Township Road District, and Cary Grove Chamber of Commerce.

The Aug. 25 event featuring an Honor Flight Welcome Home Party for 16 veterans returning from the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. has been rescheduled to September.
