Police investigate robbery at Aurora bank

Authorities were investigating a robbery Thursday at Old Second National Bank on Aurora’s west side.

Police said no one was hurt when a man entered the bank at 555 Redwood Drive shortly after 2 p.m. and demanded money from a teller.

The suspect was described as a black man with hair braids. He appeared to be 18 to 20 years old, about 160 pounds and standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, police said.

Authorities said the man implied he had a weapon. He ran northwest toward Lilac Lane with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The suspect was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black rimmed glasses and a brimmed, possibly camouflage hat, according to police.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the FBI at (312) 421-6700 or Aurora police at (630) 256-5500.
