Hanover Township distributes school backpacks

Hanover Township distributed more than 1,000 backpacks to needy families last week as part of its effort to help kids get off to a good start in the new school year.

The township partnered with state Rep. Fred Crespo, Cook County Commissioner Timothy Schneider, AT&T, Communities That Care, Backpack Buddies and the Streamwood Kiwanis Club in the effort.
