Foundation hires new director of finance, marketing & communications officer

Wheaton, IL- The DuPage Community Foundation is pleased to announce the employment of David A. Weisz as director of finance, and Joelyn M. Kott as marketing & communications officer.

As director of finance, Weisz will work directly with the Foundation's president to develop broad organizational goals and policies, as well as be responsible for accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting. Weisz started on August 14.

Weisz graduated from DePaul University, Chicago, with a bachelor of science in commerce degree in accountancy. Weisz was most recently employed as the CFO of Quatrro FPO Solutions, where he performed financial reporting and budget facilitation, among other duties, for three not-for-profit agencies. Weisz previously had directed all finance and accounting for a retail furniture chain of seven stores while acting as vice president of finance and corporate controller for Bassett Furniture, Chicago Furniture Group. He also previously worked as a corporate controller for Peppers Bedroom City.

"I am happy and excited to be joining the staff at The DuPage Community Foundation," said Weisz. "I believe the organization is positioned for growth, and I'm impressed with its proven history of assisting the community where I live and have chosen to raise my children."

As marketing & communications officer, Kott will will work with the Foundation's president, director of development, Marketing Committee, Board and other Foundation leaders to devise and implement successful marketing and communication strategies focused on increasing the Foundation's visibility and promoting its vision throughout the community. Kott will also help the Foundation achieve its asset development, grant-making and community leadership objectives. She also started on August 14.

Kott graduated from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and earned her master's degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing, also from Lewis University. Kott's most recent position was as the communications and marketing coordinator for the Village of Lombard, where she handled all communications aspects for the Village. Prior to her employment at the Village of Lombard, Kott worked as the director of university relations at Lewis University where she was responsible for the University's public relations duties.

"I am very excited to be a part of the Foundation team," Kott said. "I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to share with others how great I have already found The DuPage Community Foundation to be," she added.
