Indiana rehab center fundraiser to show off raptors

NASHVILLE, Ind. — A southern Indiana center that rehabilitates injured and orphaned birds of prey will show off some of those recuperated raptors during its annual fundraiser.

The Nashville-based Indiana Raptor Center’s Sept. 7 fundraiser will include raptor shows by the staff of four rehab centers in Indiana and Illinois. They’ll entertain the gathering with hawks, owls and other birds of prey nursed back to health.

Tickets are $28. Raptor Center President Patti Reynolds says $12 from each ticket to the Brown County State Park fundraiser will go toward the center’s operation. The rest will pay park rental fees.

Reynolds says the center has treated more than 1,000 birds of prey since it opened in 2004. It is staffed by volunteers and funded by donations and grants.
