Ex-Bears WR Terrell arrested on drug charge

Former Bears first-round draft pick David Terrell is free on bond after being arrested on a drug charge.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported Terrell was arrested Friday after Chicago police received a call of people smoking marijuana in a building. Authorities say Terrell and two others were observed with cannabis and “materials to package and distribute narcotics” in plain view.

Authorities said the 35-year-old Terrell struck an officer’s hand during an interview.

Terrell is charged with manufacture or delivery of 30-500 grams of cannabis and with battery.

Terrell, who played for the University of Michigan, was drafted by the Bears in 2001. The wide receiver played four seasons with the Bears and one with the Denver Broncos. He finished his career with 128 receptions and 9 touchdowns.
