Arts in Bartlett sponsoring birdhouse competition

Arts in Bartlett is sponsoring a Decorate a Birdhouse competition for the annual Heritage Days Festival Sept. 7-8. Birdhouses of any size or material, store-bought or handmade, will be accepted. The contest is open to all ages and entries can be designed by individuals, families or groups. The winners in the three categories — best themed, Bartlett heritage and most creative — will get a ribbon, certificate and free one-year membership to Arts in Bartlett. Submissions need to be set up at the park at Railroad and Main streets from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Sept. 7. Judging will begin at 2:30 p.m. and conclude with an award ceremony. After Heritage Days, the birdhouses will be auctioned to raise money for an Arts in Bartlett scholarship and budding talent grant.
